City of Newark - New Dog License Application

What you need to know to get started:

1. Per City code, all dogs four months of age within the City of Newark are required to have a dog License. A rabies certificate is required before a license can be
issued.

2. Animal licenses are renewed on an annual basis and expire one, two, or three years from the issue date. You may choose to apply for a license for as long as the
rabies vaccination is valid (one, two, or three years). 

3. The start date is the first date you became the owner of your pet in the City of Newark.

4. No payment will be required until your application has been reviewed and accepted. You will receive an email verifying the receipt of application. Within 5 business  
days you will receive an email containing the amount due and instructions on how to make a payment online.
